How do I reserve Jeffrey Mansion?

Email the Bexley Recreation and Parks event coordinator with your date, space, time, resident or non-resident, alcohol or non-alcohol and guest count. You must be 21 to reserve.

How far ahead can I book?

Bexley residents can reserve 24 months ahead. Non-residents can reserve up to 18 months ahead.

What are the Jeffrey House rates?

Bexley residents pay $1,250 for Friday evening plus Saturday morning, $1,750 for Saturday evening and $150 an hour on Sunday. Non-residents pay $2,250, $2,750 and $250 an hour. Sunday has a 3 hour minimum.

What are the Carriage Court rates?

Bexley residents pay $2,500 for Friday evening plus Saturday morning, $3,500 for Saturday evening and $200 an hour on Sunday. Non-residents pay $3,250, $4,250 and $300 an hour. Adding the Jeffrey House is $500.

How much is the deposit?

Accepted Answer

50% of the rental fee is due when you reserve and counts toward the final payment. The balance is due at least one month before the event.

What is the refund policy?

Cancel in writing. A deposit refund is 75% at 6 or more months out, 50% at 3 to 6 months and 0% under 3 months. A full refund applies if the city must close the facility.

Can we decorate?

Existing hooks and removable Command strips may be used. Candles and open flame, confetti, rice, glitter and fog or bubble machines are not allowed.

Can we serve alcohol?

Yes. The preferred caterer must bring the alcohol and its staff must pour it. There are no cash bars. Nobody under 21 may be served, and the renter must be 21+ with valid ID.

Is a police officer required for alcohol events?

Yes. One special duty officer is required for up to 128 guests and two for 129 or more. The posted rate is $58 an hour per officer and can change.

What tables and chairs are included?

60-inch round and 6-foot and 8-foot banquet tables and chairs are included for indoor use. Outdoor set-ups come from the caterer or the renter.

Can we hold a ceremony outdoors?

Yes. A Jeffrey House rental includes the upper garden terrace for outdoor ceremonies. Carriage Court renters add the Jeffrey House.

How much set-up time does the caterer get?

A preferred caterer gets 2 hours of set-up and 1 hour of clean-up around the rental time and handles its own set-up and clean-up.

Do I have to use a preferred caterer?

Accepted Answer

Yes for Friday and Saturday events and for any event with alcohol. Sunday events without alcohol do not need one.

Is there event parking?

There is no reserved parking. It is first-come, first-served in the lots and on the street, not on the driveway. Events over 128 guests need a city-approved parking plan.

Is the mansion accessible?

The city says the handicapped entrance is accessible, with an automatic door and railings.

Do children's groups need chaperones?

Accepted Answer

One adult chaperone is required in the room for every ten minors. Youth groups of 50 or more must hire a special duty police officer.
