Columbus Event Spaces is a free guide to private event spaces in Columbus. GM SideKick™ runs it. This page explains what we collect when you use the guide and what we do with it. We write it in plain English on purpose.

Who we are

Columbus Event Spaces is run by GM SideKick™. GM SideKick™ is a product of Spark Leads Agency, LLC. Our address is 2691 E Main St, Columbus, OH 43209, United States. We are the company behind this policy. Email us at support@gmsidekick.app.

Who this covers

This page covers guests who use Columbus Event Spaces. That means people who browse the guide, ask a venue a question, suggest a fix, text our concierge, chat with us or sign up for What’s on. Venue owners, venue staff and GM SideKick™ clients are covered by our main Privacy Policy. That includes venue staff who ask for a free Room Tour or a change to their listing.

Questions you send to a venue

When you ask about a space, we collect your name, email, event date, guest count, occasion, message, and whether your date can move. We also collect your phone number if you give it. The form also records which venue and page you asked from. We send your question to that venue so it can answer you. If we don’t have the venue’s events email yet, it comes to us first and we pass it on. We keep a copy too. The venue holds its own copy and handles it under its own privacy policy.

If the venue is slow to reply, you can ask us for other spaces. We text you about your question only if you tick the text box.

Some venues are GM SideKick™ partners. We answer event questions for them. Our main Privacy Policy explains how we handle those.

Fixes you suggest

When you suggest a fix, we collect your name, email, the fix and the page you sent it from. We also collect your phone number if you give it. We use these details to check the fix and to ask you about it. We keep them in our contact records. If you work at the venue, we also collect your role, and our main Privacy Policy covers you too. We email or call you about your venue’s page only if you tick that box.

Concierge texts

When you ask us to text you room ideas, we collect your name, mobile number, event date, guest count, area and notes. The concierge works by text, so the form asks your OK to text you. We text you only about that request. Texts from us explains your choices.

Texts from us

We text you when you text us first, or after you agree to texts: through the concierge, the text box on a venue question, or our chat. Maps, chat and cookies explains how the chat’s box works. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or email support@gmsidekick.app.

We share your number with the venue you ask, when you put it in a question, and with the providers that run our chat and send our texts. We never share your mobile number or text consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

What’s on emails

When you sign up for What’s on, we collect your email. We use it to send What’s on, a free email about ticketed events in Columbus. We send at most one a week. Some events are at partner venues, and we earn a fee when you buy their tickets. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Use it, or email us, and we stop within 10 business days.

Compare

Your compare picks stay in your own browser. The site saves them in your browser’s local storage so they are there when you come back. We do not receive them. Clear your browser’s site data to remove them.

What this website collects automatically

This website runs on Framer. Framer records basic visit data for us. That means pages viewed, the site you came from, your rough location by country, and your device and browser type. It counts visits and nothing more. It does not follow you to other websites. Framer also sees your IP address to serve the page and keep the site secure. Pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address.

Maps, chat and cookies

Venue pages show a Google map. It loads from Google when you scroll near it, before you tap it. Google gets your IP address and the page you are on, and can set cookies under its own privacy policy. When a venue page shows a YouTube room video, its preview image loads from YouTube before you press play.

The reviews section on venue pages uses Google Maps Platform. It loads Google ratings and reviews from Google when you scroll near it. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to that.

Our chat tool comes from LeadConnector (HighLevel). Its script loads on every page of this site, these guide pages included. It runs even where the chat bubble is hidden. On each page load it sends LeadConnector a record of the visit and looks up your rough location from your IP address. It also loads fonts and images from other servers, which see your IP address.

It also keeps a visit history in your browser. That history can hold the pages you viewed, the site you came from, campaign tags in the link, Facebook click IDs if your link had one, and a device fingerprint.

If you open the chat, Cloudflare checks that you are not a bot. If you write in the chat, we get your name, phone number and messages, and any voice notes or files you send. We use them to answer you. The chat also has a box that agrees to texts and emails from us. It starts ticked. The chat needs it ticked to send. Reply STOP to any text to stop them.

We set no advertising cookies of our own and run no ad pixels. Our chat tool does track visits, as explained above. The site keeps a little data in your browser so pages load and scroll the way they should. Clear site data in your browser settings any time to remove it, along with your compare picks and the chat’s visit history in your browser. The site still works. We don’t take special action when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

How we use information

We use information to pass your question to a venue, check fixes you suggest, answer your texts and chat messages, send What’s on, run and secure the guide, improve it, and meet our legal duties. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We share your question with the venue you ask. We share information with the providers that run the guide for us. Framer hosts the site and its forms. HighLevel (LeadConnector) runs our chat and our contact records. Email and SMS providers send our messages. AI tools may help us sort and answer messages. Scheduling and storage tools hold our files. Each one may use it only to provide that service to us. Google sends our maps and fonts and handles what it receives under its own privacy policy. We also share information when the law requires it, when a court or regulator demands it, or when we need it to protect our rights or someone’s safety. If the business is sold the records transfer with it. We do not sell personal information. We never share your mobile number or text consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your request while we help you and while we need it to run the guide. We stop texts and emails when you opt out, and we keep a note of the opt-out so we keep honoring it. Your compare picks and the chat history stay in your browser until you clear them. We hold a record longer when a dispute or the law requires it. We delete or anonymize records once we no longer need them.

Your rights

Ask us and we will show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Send your request to support@gmsidekick.app. We answer within 45 days. If a request is complex we take longer and we tell you why. We may need to confirm who you are first. We may keep what we need to honor an opt-out or meet a legal duty. A venue you contacted keeps its own copy of your question, so ask that venue too. We never charge for a request and we never treat you worse for making one.

California privacy rights

California residents can ask what personal information we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to limit how we use sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our chat tool and Google Maps collect some data directly, as the sections above explain. We do not treat you differently for using these rights. You can name an authorized agent to make a request for you.

Visitors from the EU and UK

Columbus Event Spaces lists venues in Columbus, Ohio. Anyone can reach this site, so here is the short version. Our legal bases are your request and our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. Where we need your consent we ask for it. You can ask for access, correction, deletion, a copy of your data, or a stop to certain uses. We handle your data in the United States, which has different privacy laws than yours. Email us and we will answer. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We protect information with access controls, encrypted connections, and accounts limited to the people who need them. No system is perfect and we do not claim ours is. If a breach affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

Columbus Event Spaces is for adults who plan events. It is not directed to children under 13. Only adults should ask a venue a question or text our concierge. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Tell us if you think a child gave us information and we will delete it.
